Ecole Jean Robert Gauthier
Completed:
September 2009
Due to increasing student population in the Ottawa suburb of Barrhaven, the French Catholic School Board constructed a large addition to a new two year old school. The addition is two stories, and approximately 55,000 sqft. The building includes a cafeteria, library, science labs, classrooms, gymnasium, and a large two storey atrium. The frame is structural steel, with a flat roof, and large linear skylight. The exterior walls were framed in wind bearing steel studs and clad in masonry veneer. Large areas of curtain wall were included in the design, especially at the circular library and cafeteria. Renovations were also made in the main reception area. |
