Taplen was engaged as the Design-Builder to fit-up a new dental office in a ground-level retail space located at 134 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario. Our mandate was to maximize the use of the new space while developing a modern interior design using glazing to bring in as much natural light as possible from the street front.
The construction scope included installing or constructing electrical, mechanical and plumbing fit-outs, interior walls and ceilings, millwork and flooring. A key facet was incorporating and installing operatory chairs from the existing practice while ensuring their functionality with the new equipment.

Significant Change Request
After construction had begun, several significant architectural changes were requested requiring us to quickly modify the design, price the revisions, and minimize the impact on the schedule.
Even though we had to incorporate major changes, we completed construction in just eight weeks—only an additional two weeks than originally planned.
